Stripper pinata

I noticed that there weren't many 'upmarket' [can't think of a less ironic word] stripper piñatas available a while back and having made a couple for the pinatafest I thought I'd build a mould for something really special. I'd also like to use him for a few non piñata projects [not how it sounds] but I'll leave mentioning that for another day.

I built this of the mould for a friends hen do and she liked it so much she's refused to smash it up and is now reputed to hang coats on him in her hallway.

I have so much more to say about this but it's out busiest time of the year so I'll leave it at that. For now...

Shelter fundraising donation

Fujitsu recently had a fund-raising event for Shelter and I was asked to make a donation to the northern branch by an old school friend. The order included an old 80's style mobile phone, a bulky computer monitor, a piggy bank and the Fujitsu logo for people to smash up.

I wasn't quite sure how to do the logo as I find bubble writing much easier when it comes to piñatas so I feel I cheated a little by covering a cardboard box and putting it on but they seemed happy with it anyway!

I really should do something about the strippers in my kitchen though, they seem to be quite a permanent feature now!  I think if I do many more personal projects I'll have to ether sell off some of the old ones or organise some storage space somewhere else. I've already stuffed piñatas in friends garages and lofts! Which actually lead to a recent sale when one of them had a visitor but I'd grown quite fond of the Chinese dragon in question. In fact I'm not even sure if I have pictures! I've also got orders for a couple more so hopefully I'll get around to it this time.


 Anyway, I should get off and go to bed. I've got orders to get on with and I'm behind on several blog posts as usual and I've been distracted by painting butterflies and 'paper-clips' (as my children call them). I'll add them to my list of projects to write about even though they're not piñatas! One day I'll nag my web guy into finishing the website and I'll be able to use this blog as it was intended - for personal use!

Here's our most recent order, finished and ready to go. We're in the process of making a series of fabulous people piñatas that you just can't buy in the shops!

As well as some popular characters we'll be making stripper piñatas for hen and stag nights and some classier ones too. We might also end up making the odd less savoy character for parties, we'll just have to see what the future brings.

Giant hat piñata

This would work well for an Alice in wonderland themed party, burlesque nights, weddings, stag parties, rocky horror theme nights or any other event that would suit a top hat!


This piñata measures around 60x90cm. At the moment its free standing so that it can support more weight. It could be decorated to suit a particular event, or be used as decoration or storage.

Funky flower piñatas!

Some of the first piñatas we ever made. These were used as wedding decorations.

Cocktail glass piñata.

 We've turned the Martini glass into a cocktail glass with a slice and an umbrella. We've got a bit carried away and made the umbrella huge!

The weight of the contents has changed the shape of the glass.

This one is enormous and due to be bashed to pieces at the On the edge festival tonight.

Gung hay fat choy!

It just happens to be Chinese new year today - which is actually where Pinata's are thought to originate from.

I figure its a great excuse to smash one up at our house tonight.

At the end of February it will have been one year and over 130 piñatas since selling that first penisata. Time for some publicity and nagging over the website. At the moment I'm up to my neck in hearts and flowers.

Elephant piñata vs the robot

Our deadline for these two piñatas was today. The elephant is just over a meter long to give you an idea of size..To give you an idea of prices the elephant would cost around £60 and the robot £45 although it is possible to produce a cheaper less detailed version of either. For instance the robot didn't need to have moving arms and legs!

Piñata letters and piñata numbers

 

We can do letters or numbers either in a banner form or as a piñata.

They can be decorated in any way you want. We opted for something quite simple to get the most use out of it!

Valentines day pinatas

Each heart is handmade and therefore unique so sizes and shapes are approximate. 

The white rose heart piñata has a contrasting black background. It measures around 50cm at its widest point and would cost £40 including postage. Discounts are available for multiple orders.

The black heart is a very simple design and would therefore cost around £20-30 (including postage) depending on the complexity of the order.  They're also available in different materials as well as styles.

Christmas piñatas

The hat and scarf on this snowman we've just stuck on to see what they looked like.

They're a fantastic decoration that can be smashed up at the office Christmas party.

There are quite a few other examples on here in different styles and sizes.

Martini glass pinata

This is a Martini glass piñata. Its made mostly from newspaper, other than its cardboard base. We’ll put up another picture when it’s completed.

We've played around with the pieces to make a hat or a lamp. We wish we had more time to play with this one but its due to be delivered on Friday.

This isn't quite finished yet. We thought we'd upload a sneaky preview.

Its mostly made from cardboard boxes.

Easter piñata

Piñatas are great fun at any kind of party. This piñata was commissioned for an Easter event. Its just made from one balloon - the simplest piñata you can make!  It doesn't have to be a giant balloon like this one either. 

Wedding Bell pinata

Here's a recent custom made piñata for a hen night. Its our first attempt at a wedding bell! This one is around 80cm long. A piñata like this would cost around £45.
