Piñata fest
Tickets are £10 on the door. |
On
Saturday 3 August, the Beaver Works plays host to the biggest piñata
bash in the UK. Full to bursting with bands, burlesque, beautiful
creations and glorious destruction! Showcasing talent from across Leeds
and Yorkshire, prepare to be dazzled.
The
Piñata Lady has mastered the art of bespoke piñata designs - sculptures
and pulptures to suit all ages and every occasion. It’s a craft that
creates a colourful atmosphere and adds the essential element of fun.
Piñatas
are are fun for both adults and children alike so it's no wonder
they've grown in popularity over the last few years. Although they're
rumoured to have originated in china, in the form of a clay pot filled
with grains that was beaten till it broke to ward off evil spirits,
they're better known for being a brightly coloured donkey shaped export
from Mexico. Where they're incorporated (in all shapes and sizes) into
celebrations such at the day of the dead as well as birthdays and other
celebrations. If you haven't cracked one open yet you're missing out!
